Beau Lamarre-Condon's trial continues with allegations of attempted body disposal

The full report

A Sydney court has heard that Beau Lamarre-Condon, a 31-year-old former police officer, previously visited a farm where he allegedly tried to sink the bodies of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.

The prosecution has told the court that Lamarre-Condon visited the rural property, owned by the family of a man he met on a dating app, months before the alleged murders.

The jury has been shown a 3D reconstruction of the Paddington terrace where the alleged murders took place, as well as a statement from Michael Cella, a 20-year-old who matched with Lamarre-Condon on the dating app Hinge in March 2023.

Cella's statement detailed his relationship with Lamarre-Condon, including a weekend trip to a cabin and a visit to his family's hobby farm in Bungonia, where the pair stayed overnight and Lamarre-Condon recorded the farm and posted it to his Instagram story.

The court has also heard that Lamarre-Condon initially attempted to sink the bodies at a farm about a 15-minute drive away, using quick-set cement and weights, before eventually disposing of them near a monastery at Bungonia.

Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one charge of aggravated break and enter, and is claiming self-defence during the trial.
