A woman who claims Russell Brand raped her told him she felt treated like an animal, a court has heard. The woman made the comment in a recorded police interview, which was played to the jury at Southwark Crown Court in London.
The woman claims she did not consent to anal sex with Brand at his house in 2009. Brand, 51, denies three charges of rape, three charges of sexual assault and one charge of indecent assault. He has said he has never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity.
The allegations span a 10-year period from 1999 to 2009 and involve six female complainants. The woman who made the comment about being treated like an animal first met Brand at one of his comedy shows at Hammersmith Apollo in 2009.
She said she had a boyfriend at the time but went to his dressing room, where she performed a sex act on him. The woman said it was during their next meeting at his house when the sex was not consensual and she had only agreed to vaginal sex.
The woman said she received a 'random' text message from Brand six months later, saying he wanted to 'push her further'. She replied asking: 'Why are you even messaging me?'
Brand's response was: 'Because you're dirty and I want to push you further.' The woman said she did not respond straight away because she was upset, but then replied saying: 'I think you've pushed me far enough, you treated me like an animal.'
The woman added: 'I do remember his response was immediate. He said, 'I'm sorry'.'
